Gabrielle Saulené (she/her they/them) is an interdisciplinary artist based in Los Angeles, originally from Virginia. Her work explores themes of love, grief, intergenerational trauma, and the complex intersections of identity, particularly as a Black woman.

She seeks to create space for connection, understanding, and healing, acknowledging the intricacies of both individual and shared experiences through her art, while continuing the dialogue of resilience and love within the context of Black womanhood in an attempt to honor the legacies of those who came before her.

Her current project, I wish heaven had visiting hours, reflects the ongoing journey of grief. It is an exploration of what it means to hold onto the memory of loved ones, while grappling with the absence they leave behind. Through this project, Gabrielle invites viewers to witness grief not as a solitary, fixed experience, but as a living, breathing force that continues to evolve and inform our lives.
